The 12 hour flight went by fast because I was lucky enough to have a row of 4 seats to myself! With this being said I was able to lay down and sleep for 8 hours of the flight. The other 4 consisted of eating awesome food and watching Moana. Once we landed we had a day of exploring Auckland. Driving on the opposite side of the road is crazy but it is fun as a passenger. I found out they do this because in Britain back in the day they drove that way so that they could shake hands. We quickly dropped our bags off at the hotel and found an awesome cafe with amazing coffee art! Mine had a very detailed leaf of it. As a group we ventured around the city for a few hours taking everything in. After walking to the pier we decided to take the ferry to Rangitoto Island where we got to hike to the top of an old volcano. The volcano exploded between 550-600 years ago and it is the largest volcano to be formed in the Auckland volcano chain. Bats are the only animals besides birds that live on the island.
